The Karate Kid

John G. Avildsen directs this martial arts action adventure starring Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita. When Daniel (Macchio) arrives at his new school in California, he soon finds himself the victim of a gang of bullies trained in karate. When school janitor Miyagi (Morita), a wise old martial arts instructor, takes it upon himself to train Daniel to defend himself, the bullies quickly realise that they have picked a fight with the wrong boy.
