Charlie (Mike Myers) is a hapless San Francisco poet whose commitment aversion causes him to bottle out every time he gets a girlfriend. When he meets the girl of his dreams (Nancy Travis), he determines to overcome his fears and tie the knot. But then he begins to suspect that maybe his beloved is a Black Widow killer, a maniac who disposes of her husband everytime she goes on honeymoon. Is he just being paranoid or has he really married an axe murderer?
