Young Erica Yurken (Saskia Burmeister) hates her embarrassing parents, her life at school, and resents the fact that no one recognises her supposed talent as an actress. When the beautiful Alison Ashley arrives at Barringa East High School, Erica's sense of superiority over everyone else suddenly takes a knock, as she realises that Alison is everything she would like to be. A bitter rivalry soon develops between the two girls.
