Four classic Clint Eastwood westerns. 'A Fistful of Dollars' (1964) is Sergio Leone's remake of the Kurosawa classic 'Yojimbo' and features Eastwood in his first big screen starring role. Laconic gunslinger the Man With No Name (Eastwood) makes a financial killing by playing two feuding families off each other in a small Southwestern town. 'For a Few Dollars More' (1966) has Eastwood's Man With No Name reluctantly joining forces with bounty hunter Colonel Mortimer (Lee Van Cleef) to battle psychotic bandit El Indio (Gian Maria Volonte) and his gang of outlaws. Director Leone's spaghetti western once again features Ennio Morricone's atmospheric score. 'The Good the Bad and the Ugly' (1966) forms the final part of the trilogy that brought Eastwood to Hollywood's attention. During the American Civil War, the paths of three loners - Joe (Eastwood), Tuco (Eli Wallach) and Setenza (Van Cleef) - cross as they search for the grave of Bill Carson, home to a hidden fortune. As the war intensifies, the treasure seekers become drawn into a battle that dwarfs their own mercenary pursuits. Finally, in 'Hang 'Em High,' (1967), set in Oklahoma, 1873, Jed Cooper (Eastwood) is mistaken for a murderous rustler and taken to be hanged by corrupt lawman Captain Wilson (Ed Begley). However, he survives the hanging and is rescued by a local sheriff. Cooper vows revenge upon Wilson and takes a job as a deputy sheriff, determined to restore law and order to Oklahoma.
