Recorded at Bristol’s Christchurch Studios during July 2001, Music for a New Crossing features one of Britain's leading Jazz musicians, Andy Sheppard, on saxophones, keyboards, programming and guitar; world-renowned piper Kathryn Tickell on Northumbrian smallpipes; and Chris Wells on percussion. The album was commissioned by Music North and premiered at the opening of the Gateshead Milennium Bridge in September 2001. This limited edition CD, showcases two legendary musicians at the height of their creative forces.
