The Hammer

American drama written and directed by Angela Shelton. When George Lee Martin (Gbenga Akinnagbe) is incarcerated in a Tennessee prison he becomes involved in the weekly boxing events hosted by the inmates. Proving himself to be a skilled fighter George attracts the attention of a US Olympic coach who offers George the opportunity to compete at the 1984 Olympics. However, George will only accept the offer if his transgender lover, Crystal (Shawn-Caulin Young), is also given a chance at freedom.
