Belladonna of Sadness

Animated feature film, directed by Eiichi Yamamoto, telling the tragic tale of a woman named Jeanne (voice of Aiko Nagayama) living in medieval France and the tumults which affect her. Having married Jean (Katsutaka Ito), any chance of happiness is quashed when the local baron (Masaya Takahashi) attacks her. Soon after, Jeanne is accused of witchcraft and cast out of the village, leading her to seek help from a darker power.
