American drama set in Las Vegas and starring William H. Macy, Alec Baldwin and Maria Bello. When luckless Bernie Lootz (Macy) plays alongside high rollers at the Shangri-La their fortunes invariably take a turn for the worse. The arrangement suits casino boss Shelley Kaplow (Baldwin) whose business style is considered outmoded by upcoming advisers and property developers. Much to his astonishment Bernie begins a relationship with cocktail waitress Natalie (Bello). Once his good fortune begins to rub off on the players at the Shangri-La Shelley does all he can to end the relationship and have his luckless 'cooler' back.
