'Awake But Dreaming: Opus I' sees Tokio Myers at his most vulnerable, honest and achingly emotional yet. Channeling his journey into sobriety, fatherhood and the loss of his father, the album marks a huge personal milestone for Tokio and is testament not only to his artistry, but also to the person that he is today. Becoming a father was the key inspiration behind the creation of his new album, which he has dedicated to his three-year-old daughter, Malaya. Both of their hands can be seen caressing piano keys on the album cover. The opening intro 'Beautiful Little Angel' features voice clips of Tokio speaking with Malaya, setting the tone for the heart and passion that he has devoted to the album. What follows are a multitude of magical musical pieces, including several original compositions and special renditions of traditional classics, that are goosebump inducingly powerful, transcendental and therapeutic.
