Robert Mitchum reprises his role as private detective Philip Marlowe in this thriller directed by Michael Winner. In 1970s London, Marlowe (Mitchum) is hired by General Sternwood (James Stewart), who is being blackmailed because of his daughter Camilla (Candy Clark)'s gambling debts.
