In 'Twilight of the Gods' Morse investigates when an attempt is made on the life of one of his favourite opera singers, Gladys Probert (Sheila Gish). As he looks deeper into the case, he uncovers a scandal dating back to the Second World War, and discovers a connection between a murdered journalist and the founding of a new college at Oxford University.
