Art-loving DI Mick Palmer (Stephen Moyer, True Blood ) singlehandedly runs the Heritage Crime Unit, investigating murders and thefts in the shadowy world of art, antiquities and priceless artifacts. When straight-talking young DC Shazia Malik (Nina Singh, Virdee) helps him solve the brutal killing of an art historian, he offers her a job. Together, the new partners investigate a Viking hoard smuggled from a prehistoric grave, dark family secrets at a Cornish recording studio, a sabotaged wine tasting and the death of a millionaire obsessed with the sinking of the Titanic. While Shazia adapts to life away from her overprotective family, Mick navigates a budding romance with museum curator Rosa (Sarah Alexander, Coupling) and the shocking reappearance of his long-gone father, a notorious art forger (Larry Lamb, Gavin & Stacey).
