Issa López writes and directs this fantasy crime horror set in Mexico City. Eleven-year-old Estrella (Paola Lara) is granted three wishes by her teacher during a creative writing exercise that is disrupted by a drug-related shooting outside her school. Returning home Estrella discovers that her mother is missing. In order to get by, Estrella joins a gang of orphaned children, led by Shine (Juan Ramón López), who have links to the local drug cartel. Surrounded by poverty and violence Estrella chooses her wishes carefully as she allows her imagination to infuse her reality.
