In 1950s Pennsylvania, Second World War veteran Frank becomes a loyal employee of Mafioso Russell Bufalino (Joe Pesci), the head of the Bufalino crime family, and subsequently union leader Jimmy Hoffa (Pacino), whose influential position comes under threat.
