Glitzy television remake of the Daphne du Maurier story (originally made into a film in 1940 by Alfred Hitchcock). Charles Dance, Faye Dunaway, Diana Rigg and Emilia Fox head the cast in the story of mysterious Maxim de Winter (Dance) and his nervous new bride (Fox). Returning to de Winter's country house, Manderley, Fox finds herself living in the shadow of his first wife, Rebecca. Although dead, Rebecca's influence is still felt in the form of her devoted housekeeper, Mrs Danvers (Rigg).
