Dreamscape

Sci-fi action adventure co-written and directed by Joseph Ruben in which Dennis Quaid plays a compulsive gambler with telepathic powers who takes a job as a dream therapist to pay off his debts. He has the ability to step into the nightmares of other people and, in doing so, can help them overcome the traumas which cause their bad dreams. However, someone else with the same gift is determined to invade the paranoid dreams of the United States president, with potentially deadly consequences. Alex Gardner (Quaid) is the only obstacle in the way of this seemingly fail-safe assassination plot.
