After a brutal double murder, a young wife arrested at the scene suffers total amnesia. Psychologist Dr Mark Ellis (Nigel Hawthorne) is recruited by the police to try to unlock the secrets in the woman's mind. He discovers that she has retreated within herself to escape a life of cruelty and abuse. Ellis has to discover whether the woman killed in self defence, or whether her mind has been programmed by someone else. If so, could she be the next victim, or will she kill again?
