Crime drama starring Zachary Scott as criminal mastermind and gang leader Max Brant. When Brant escapes the police in France and flees to England, he visits former crook colleague but now respectable Louie Bernard (Mervyn Johns). Brant threatens to expose Bernard's history to his unwitting daughter Carole (Peggie Castle) to force him to begin counterfeiting money again. It isn't long before bankers and police become suspicious about the sudden influx of new five pound notes, and Brant must once again dodge the law.
