The second series of the comedy starring Richard Briers as a vicar who decides to exchange his comfortable rural parish for the pressing demands of an underprivileged Midlands town. Reverend Philip Lambe (Briers)'s decision is not welcomed by his wife Emma (Barbara Ferris), who was perfectly comfortable in their mild Oxfordshire surroundings, but Lambe has been afflicted by doubt in recent times and believes the hurly burly of urban life may help to reinvigorate him. However, as he experiences first-hand the problems that afflict Edendale, will he be daunted by the scale of the task in front of him?
