Collection of episodes from the 1975 series of the popular British soap. Set in a fictional Midlands town, the show followed the personal and professional lives of the employees and patients of the town's hospital. Foremost among the staff of the hospital were Doctor Neville Bywaters (Tony Adams) and Nurse Hilda Price (Lynda Bellingham), who needed both professional skill and a personal touch to deal with the issues they encountered on a daily basis. When the show began in 1972 it was scheduled for an afternoon slot and allocated 30 minutes per episode. In 1975 the show's popularity encouraged ITV to move it to a primetime Friday evening slot and to increase the running time of each episode to 60 minutes. The surviving episodes of the show's first series as an hour-long production are included in this collection.
