Along the way David meets some of the people responsible for managing our remaining wilderness areas and the resources we reap from them, and some of those who still make their livelihood within them. And as might be expected from the world's best loved eco-warrior, there is a plea too for the wise management of these previous landscapes. For these are, without doubt, our greatest national treasures.
