Avid jazz continues with its four classic album series with a re-mastered 2Cd release from sam most complete with original artwork and liner notes. 'i'm nuts about the most. Sam that is', 'musically yours', 'plays bird, bud, monk and miles' and 'the amazing mr sam most' possibly a new name to some jazz fans, but our next hero, sam most was considered by no less an authority than leonard feather to be 'the first great jazz flutist'. Sam most had been primarily a tenor sax man before taking up the clarinet and then the flute in his early career. For a time he pretty much had the flute field to himself, playing alongside tommy dorsey and don redman in the late 1940's before appearing and recording for labels such as prestige, debut, vanguard and bethlehem in the early 1950's.
