In 'Summer Wars' (2009) shy high school student Kenji Koiso (voice of Ryûnosuke Kamiki) is invited by Natsuki Shinohara (Nanami Sakuraba) to attend her great-grandmother's 90th birthday celebration. When he arrives at her family's estate he is shocked to be introduced as her fiancé but their budding romance is soon interrupted. Kenji receives a mysterious text message containing a mathematical problem and he can't resist solving it. This enables a dangerous artificial intelligence to create havoc in the virtual reality world of Oz, which has serious implications for the real world. Can Kenji and Natsuki work together to avert disaster? In 'The Girl Who Leapt Through Time' (2006) high school student Makoto Konno (Riisa Naka) discovers that she possesses the ability to travel through time and uses her newfound gift to improve her life and fix past mistakes. However, she soon realises that every change she makes in the past has the potential for serious repercussions in the present and she must put right the wrongs she has unwittingly committed.
