Christine Collister, ook wel de `British folk-rock's first lady of soul' genoemd, begeeft zich in jazz-, blues- en folkkringen. Ze zong een tijd bij Richard Thompson en werkte jarenlang als een duo met singer-songwriter Clive Gregson. Op deze dubbelaar staan twee van haar succesvolste solo-albums. Blue Aconite is gevuld met haar covers van o.a. Anna McGarrigle, Lal Waterson, Gillian Welch en Richard Thompson. Op The Dark Gift Of Time zingt ze nummers van Elvis Costello, Bruce Cockburn, Tom Waits en Nick Drake, met gasten als Richard Thompson, Danny Thompson en Jacqui McShee.
