Zangeres Shirley Collins heeft belangrijke bijdragen geleverd aan de Engelse folkrevival van de jaren 50 en 60. Deze cd is opgenomen in 1959 en stamt uit de tijd dat ze zeer bevriend was met Alan Lomax. Shirley zelf was nog niet in staat om zichzelf adequaat te begeleiden en Lomax nodigde zijn vrienden John Hasted (banjo), Guy Carawan en Ralph Rinzler (gitaar) uit. Een hele jonge Shirley Collins, die deze cd in retrospect the first shaky steps noemt maar die de fan zeker zal ontroeren.
