Chinese Buddhist Temple Music

Chinese tempels hebben elk hun eigen muziekstijl. De vier contemplatieve stukken op deze cd komen uit de Zhi Hua Tempel (Beijing), gebouwd tijdens de Ming-dynastie in 1443. De stijl ontwikkelde zich vanuit een combinatie van hof- en volksmuziek met Boeddhistische tempelmuziek. Het geheel wordt uitgevoerd op de guanzi (lijkt op een hobo), de sheng en de pipa (luit).
