De Britse componist Fanshawe was ook ethnomusicoloog en reisde over de hele wereld om opnames te maken. Van1978 tot 1988 maakte hij opnames in PolynesiÙ in de Stille Oceaan. Op deze cd staat een selectie himene, traditionele hymnen die o.a. gezongen worden op Tahiti en de Cook Eilanden.
