So it is, then, that with the recent success of the CD Sizzling Sessions (Upbeat URCD326), which included some amateur recordings from that very era, I think the time is right to re-issue these professionally recorded tracks from the same exciting times. There is also the added bonus that my long-time friend, mercurial clarinettist Pete Allen, dropped in on the 2001 session and appears on four tracks. Roger Marks An excellent CD of tracks from 2000 and 2001 from the well-known Roger Marks and with the added bonus of featuring Pete Allen around whom there was a lot of publicity in 2023 celebrating his 50 years of band leading. Rover Marks is back being a busy band leader after the quiet Covid times and this CD is building on his to date excellent reputation.
