An elderly woman suffers a minor heart attack which inspires her to reflect on her life and mend the troubled relationships she has with her three children. The children discover that a family portrait their mother owns is a valuable commodity, and this revelation begins to change their attitudes and reveal their true colours - ugly, greedy traits that undermine their very personalities.
