Oregon wurde von Gitarrist Ralph Towner und Bassist Glen Moore gegründet, weitere Mitglieder waren Collin Walcott und Trilok Gurtu. Die Gruppe blickt auf eine lange Laufbahn zurück, angefangen bei Vanguard (1970) und neben anderen bei ECM und Sony.
