Firefall wurden vom ehemaligen Flying Burrito Brothers-Mitglied Rick Roberts und dem Gitarristen Larry Burnett gegründet. Das selbstbetitelte Album „Firefall“ wurde 1976 auf Atlantic veröffentlicht und erreichte die Top 30 der US Albumcharts. Die Single „You Are the Woman“ schaffte es sogar in die Top 10. “Luna Sea” von 1977 und “Elan” von 1978 konnten ähnliche Charterfolge verbuchen – dennoch wurden Firefall 1981 von Atlantic fallengelassen. Es folgten zahlreiche Veränderungen und Besetzungswechsel, aber Firefall gab es auch 2015 noch live zu sehen. Remastered und im Slipcase samt neuen Linernotes.
