A trio of criminals plan to rob Richardson's, the City of London bank. The heist has been dreamed up by the cocky young Eddie (Rhys Ifans) and his pal Ian (David Schneider). They enlist the help of veteran thief and safecracker Maitland (John Hurt), but when the robbery takes place, things begin to go horribly wrong.
