14-year-old Casey (Lindsay Lohan) is dispirited and downcast following her mother's death, and feels she and her father (Jere Burns) are losing their closeness. When she comes across a book of magic spells she decides to make use of it and try to bring her mother back to life. But her well-intended plan goes hilariously wrong and instead she brings to life her fashion doll Eve (Tyra Banks). Eve is delighted to find herself in the world but has a lot to learn and Casey does not feel prepared to take her under her wing.
