Downfall of Berlin

An incredible true story of survival from WWII, based on an international bestseller and published in over 20 countries and directed by Golden Globe nominee Max Färberböck. April 1945. The Red Army have encircled Berlin. The final battle for the city is a bitter struggle for both the soldiers and the inhabitants of Berlin. As the city begins to fall the women become victim to rape from the invading soldiers who are hell bent on seeking revenge on all Germans whether a soldier or a civilian. One of them, a young woman ANONYMA, had previously been an International journalist. In desperation and not knowing if her own husband (who was an officer fighting on the Russian front) was still alive she resolves to try and control her own fate and so to survive hunger and rape she decides to look for an officer who could maybe protect her. What happens next is what she had least been prepared for. A relationship develops with the Russian Commander ANDREJ that would feel like love were it not for the barrier that keeps them enemies till the end. ANDREJ had seen his own share of atrocities as his own wife had been brutely murdered by German soldiers during the war. How can ANDREJ now protect ANONYMA whilst maintaining the respect of his war hardened and embittered soldiers.
