Written by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe (My Fair Lady, Camelot), this mystical story tells of a village in the Scottish Highlands that only comes to life once every hundred years. Discovered by Tommy and Jeff on the very day it comes to life, Tommy finds himself falling in love with Fiona, the village beauty. Memories of his life and girl back home, make him unable to make the sacrifice and remain part of the sleeping village. But unable to live without her, he returns', bringing about a miracle that reawakens the village, through the strength of his love, and the two are reunited forever.

This romantic tale was a big hit on Broadway (1947) and met with similar success in London (1949). It has been consistently revived on the stage and filmed by MGM with Gene Kelly, Cyd Charisse and Van Johnson in the leads. Featuring the original Broadway orchestrations by Ted Royal and the hit songs "The Heather on the Hill", "Come to me bend to me", "Almost like being in love" and "There but for you go I" performed by opera star Janis Kelly and West End stars Ethan Freeman (Phantom, Les Miserables), Maurice Clarke (Brigadoon), Megan Kelly (Phantom) and full company accompanied by the National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Martin Yates.
