Re-release of one of TER's earliest recordings, the musical 'The Biograph Girl' written by David Heneker.

David also wrote the hit Broadway musical and movie 'Half A Sixpence', starring Tommy Steele. 'The Biograph Girl' is a celebration of the Golden Age of silent films, a nostaligic reminiscence of the silent movies seen through the eyes of four famous figures: Mary Pickford and Lillian Gish - both of them great silent stars; D.W. Griffiths - the most famous of all American silent screen directors and Adolph Zukor, one of the studio bosses who laid the foundations of the move industry we know today.

The music composed by David Heneker with lyrics by Warner Brown and David Heneker, traverses many styles from the bright and breezy swing of the era to the tortured torch song of the film diva. This recording is the original London Cast of the production staged at the Phoenix Theatre.
