Three episodes from the school comedy series starring John Alderton as the idealistic teacher Bernard Hedges. In 'The Sporting Life' Bernard is thrown into the deep end when he is called in to replace the departing Games teacher at the last minute. 'Norman's Conquest' has 5C getting involved in the conservation business and adopt a wild animal which they name after Norman. And 'X Certificate' sees the class make an unusual contribution to Open Day when they decide to make a film about the school.
