Three episodes from the school comedy series starring John Alderton as the idealistic teacher Bernard Hedges. In 'They're Off' the kids in Bernard's class take one of his lessons so much to heart that they decide to place a bet on it. 'Common Law' sees Bernard investigate after Sharon (Penny Spencer) is molested on the way home from school. And 'Panalal Passes By' finds the fledgling Parent-Teacher Association having a little trouble getting off the ground.
