A chance meeting of two British jazz and boogie-woogie enthusiasts, Ray Bush and Carl Sonny Leyland in California, led to this collaboration featuring vocals, clarinet, piano and harmonica. Ray Bush is a performer with over 65 years experience beginning with the Avon Cities Jazz Band in 1949 …. Carl Sonny Leyland is a relative newcomer, having discovered the Avon Cities recordings at age 15 in 1965. Together they have made, very simply, a fine album. Dedicated to Mike Bevan, our much missed friend who did so much for jazz in Bristol and beyond.
