ABOUT THE ARTIST
Mike's first hit came in 1961 with 'A Tribute to Buddy Holly', produced by pioneering record producer Joe Meek, and established him as the British Buddy Holly. A decade later, Mike scored a No. 1 with a re-recording of the tribute establishing him in Europe. Mike's biggest hit, produced by Chas Hodges (of Chas 'n' Dave fame), came in 1980 with The Sunshine of Your Smile, earning him a silver disc. In the seventies, alongside his singing, Mike became a photographic model featuring in over 50 television commercials. Through this, Mike was offered a role in the children s show Worzel Gummidge with Jon Pertwee. No sooner had Worzel Gummidge ended, Mike was offered his next role; Bert Spooner in Are You Being Served? staying until the show ended in 1985. In 2004 Mike fulfilled a life long ambition and made an album ( About Time Too') with Buddy Holly s original Crickets, and in 2006 headlined The Clovis Music Festival in the states celebrating the music of Holly. Mike continues to perform regularly around the country and in Europe, and can always be found writing and recording music in his own studio which he has built himself!
