Another first for Rollercoaster - Britain's only ten-inch Buddy Holly vinyl LP! This album features remastered and great-sounding tracks compiled specially for vinyl. Nine of the songs were first released on our acclaimed CD compilation Ohh! Annie! (RCCD 3056) which featured unissued tracks available for the first time anywhere . and "Baby Let's Play House" sounds better than ever before. The album is housed in a laminated full colour sleeve with period sleeve notes and even features labels that look like the real thing! Tracks are of course the undubbed and original versions

Before hitting big with the Crickets "That'll Be The Day" in 1957 Buddy Holly's career was slow to get started. He recorded locally in Lubbock and Wichita Falls, Texas before being spotted by talent scout Eddie Crandall and whisked to Nashville to record for Decca Records. He cut some of his best rockabilly recordings for the label but they were unsuccessful. In early 1957 he and the Crickets recorded at the Norman Petty Studios in Clovis, New Mexico and they soon became international stars. Buddy's influence through his songs and recordings remains strong, over 50 years after his death in a plane crash following his last stage appearance at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa.
