Age of Sigmar since 2015 is the new guise of the historic Warhammer Fantasy Battle, revised and corrected to please the most avid wargame fanatics. This time, the action is shifted after the destruction of the old world of the Classic Warhammer: when the End Times arrived, Chaos proved to be the most irrepressible and valid force, overcoming all resistance. Everything has been destroyed, except a central core in existence, the last bastion of the covenant of all the defenders of the Order. Now, these Deadly Realms, led by the Eight Gods of Magic seek to rise under the leadership of the legendary Sigmar, to bring the world out of the clutches of the gods of Chaos. For the most part created by the dark God Nagash as faithful subjects, the rows of skeletons, vampires and ghosts are the terror of every mortal soul. Their coming is like a scythe reaping the happy days of the Realms, and just thinking that these aberrant distortions of life were once valiant fighters with a beating heart cannot fail to incute a quiet despair in anyone who finds them in front of them, as they march in unison to punish all that is not dead. Their ranks only grow day after day, because in the age of the massacre only Death can win.
