戦後まもなく、大阪から滋賀・信楽にやってきた、絵が得意な女の子。名前は川原喜美子。両親と二人の妹との暮らしは貧しく、頑張り屋の喜美子は、幼いながらも一家の働き手だった。15歳になった喜美子は、大阪の下宿屋で女中として働きはじめる。大都会での暮らしと、個性豊かな下宿の人々との出会いは、喜美子をさらに成長させる。3年後に信楽に戻った喜美子は、地元の信楽焼にひかれ、男性ばかりの陶芸の世界に飛び込む。やがて愛する男性と結婚し、息子を授かり、仕事にも家庭にもまい進する日々が始まる。相変わらずの貧乏だが、夫や息子のかたわらで、大好きな陶芸にいそしむ喜美子。だが、幸せなはずの生活は思惑どおりにはいかず、大きな波乱が彼女を待ち受けている。どんなにつらいことがあっても、陶芸への情熱は消えることがない。喜美子は自らの窯を開き、独自の信楽焼を見出していく。連続テレビ小説『スカーレット』のオリジナル・サウンドトラック第2弾。 (C)RS
