A real novelty from TAMIYA in the field of 1:48 aircraft models: The Lockheed Martin® F-35®C Lightning II®! The model is a complete novelty of mold and TAMIYA's own development. The aim was to make the most detailed model of this aircraft at 1/48 scale. The F-35 is available in three versions: A for the Air Army, B for the Marines and C for the Navy. Development was carried out under the Joint Strike Fighter Programme (JSF), and the F-35 was to represent the fifth generation of fighter aircraft. The aircraft features a sophisticated stealth design, a state-of-the-art network and countless sensors that provide all the data to the pilot and computer. The F-35C was developed as a successor aircraft to the F/A-18 and is presented as one of the so-called CATOBAR (catapult assisted takeoff but stopped recovery).
