★ A valuable live sound source left on European Tour in 1959 by Saxophone Titan, Sony Rollins. Henry Grimes Base, Drums is a recording of European Tour in 1959 with Pete Laloka, Kenny Clark and Joe Harris. Previously, it was only available on the market as a pirate board, but this is the first official release by the cooperation of Sony Rollins, and the first release in LP. Introducing a complete limited edition 6.3 oz (180 g) weight board, 4-disc LP.
★ In March 1969, Sony Rollins traveled across Stockholm (Sweden), Zurich (Switzerland), Laren (Netherlands), Frankfurt (Germany), Stockholm (Sodra Theater, Sweden), and Ecsan Provence (France). Although Henry Grimes at base participates in every set, the tour schedule is extremely tough and there is a difference between band members and the drum turns from Pete Laloka to Joe Harris, and Kenny Clark as a drum in France. The episode by Jazz critician and author Bob Blumenthor, which includes various details of each member has changed, is also very interesting as a reader. This was a work of the second era of Rollins, who entered a medical facility in early 1955 and had a 4 year playing time after the day of the year. After this 1959 European tour, Rollins will once retired and come back in 1962 with the famous album "Bridge".
★ The songs are not only familiar with the songs, and the "St. Thomas" at the beginning of the Stockholm's club "Naren" has been played and played powerful play. The following 6 songs are played for radio broadcasting, and an explanation by Rollins is written on the head of the song. In addition, the long playing at the club of France has been included in the latter half of the album that spent the happiest days on this tour. At the beginning of the second LP, a short interview at the Stockholm TV station, "I'm not a mature creator and a player still developed. It is also interesting to say.
★The included booklet contains precious photos of Ed van del Elsen, Jean-Pierre Llore, and Bob Parentre. In addition to detailed instructions by Jazz reputator and author Bob Blumenthor, we also include valuable interviews told by Sony Rollins, who inspired this European tour in 1959. It also tells the heart that was to retire after this tour. Other interviews from Branford Marsalis, James Carter, Joe Roverno, James Brandon Lewis, and Peter Blotsman, etc. Mastering is the legendary engineer Bernie Grandman. Significantly improvements from the sound quality of the past pirate board. Fully translated the English booklet and comes with a very valuable Japanese booklet (16 pages in total). LP is a complete limited edition for the first press only and must be a collector's item.
★ The complete translation of the original English Liner Notes is known for its single book translations such as Miles, Coltrane and Parker by Fumimaru Kawashima. Japanese instruction manual is written by Jazz critician Masatsu.
