1/35 storm protection IV. Plastic model kit of a German WWII storm gun with 493 parts. The Sturmgeschütz IV (or StuG IV) was based on the Pz.Kpfw. IV, the most produced tank of the Wehrmacht. The StuG IV was used as a storm protector. In the military ranks of advancing infantry, these machines shot directly at enemy fortifications and fire positions with their 75 mm cannons. They were also effective at firing tanks from ambush. Assault guns were much cheaper than tanks with a rotating turret and were 0.5 m lower than tanks, reducing the chance of hitting such a gun by counterfire. From December 1943 to April 1945, three German factories had built a total of 1141 StuG IV. Length when built: 192 mm.
