Opener, "Two Guitars, Bass & Drums" sets out the stall perfectly and lets everyone know they’re back where they belong. Bashing out excellent high energy pop music that will make your toes tap so fast that it may actually hurt! Most of the songs clock in at way less than 3 minutes and hard as it is to believe but Jon's voice sounds even better than it did 35 years ago, impossible He positively shines through every track, especially on mid tempo numbers such as "Blame It On The Pony Express", “I Pity The Fool” or "Same Old Heartache". Fantastic 12-string Spectorian pop that’ll have you punching the air in no time. For the more garage-minded, there are a lot of vintage sounding keyboards on the record. To have them cover "Black Is Black" by Los Bravos (cult Spanish 60's combo) is not only a serious compliment it is also a declaration of intention. "Zombie Night In Madrid" is based on an almost true story and will thrill enthusiasts that dig that early Monkees action. Bassist Al Chan has been in the band for over 30 years but he’s still considered the "new guy". He takes lead vocal on the superb "Must Be A Word", a tune penned by Tommy Dunbar for his old side project, Vox Pop. We are very proud and thrilled with this album.
