A massive guitar lick, a huge rhythm section and shortly afterwards: demanding, questioning vocals - this is how SCHALKO, Freiburg's hottest punk act at the moment, opens its second album. Three years have passed since their extremely "cool" debut and already the first notes of their new record make one thing clear: nobody has rested here - probably nobody could rest here either! The 10 new tracks on "Bitte 3x Pommes" - a term wonderfully taken from life that wants to lure the listener onto a completely wrong track - make an enormous leap, pulsate with energy and develop a breathtakingly dense atmosphere that picks up speed not least due to the unmistakably strengthened post-punk elements. More diverse both musically and lyrically than before and more daring in its execution, the production is also noticeable, making the album seem insanely sharp and powerful without ever seeming overloaded or bloated.
