A place where melancholy, grief and despair combine to create a fictional musical building of brutal riffs and heavy words: HALLS OF OBLIVION!
The band from southern Germany was formed in 2007 to channel the aggression and hopelessness of its members in the form of Blackened Extreme Metal songs. After "Endtime Poetry", Sebastian Ruf (vocals, guitar), Marcel Welte (lead guitar), Markus Kristen (bass) and Max Beck (drums) open the gates again to give their listeners entry into the HALLS OF OBLIVION: "Eighteen Hundred And Froze To Death".
After a rather restrained entry, '8°14'43''S 117°59'34''E' discharges in a black metallic explosion, only to release the listener towards the end back into more atmospheric and acoustic realms before the versatile 'Dusk' unfolds. 'Buried By The Blackest Sand' oscillates between mid-tempo and frenzy, while offering atmospheric clean vocals in the middle. The mid-tempo 'Red Snow' shows more the melodic death metal side of the band, but still retains its pitch-black charisma. The sheer despair of 'In The Absence Of Light' touches immediately and won't let you go until the end. The final 'Dawn' acts like a swan song and at the same time like a glimmer of hope.
