Die beiden stets neugierigen Schweizer Ensembles Zeronove und I Pizzicanti stellen hier Werke zweier Komponisten vor, deren Rezeption sich bis heute auf einen Aspekt ihres Wirkens beschränkt. Fux war nicht nur Kontrapunkt-Lehrmeister, sondern schuf als kaiserlicher Hofkapellmeister in Wien zahlreiche weltliche und geistliche Kompositionen. Sein Requiem entstand 1720 zum Begräbnis der Kaiser-Witwe Eleonore Magdalene. Ungefähr 10 Jahre später erschuf Pergolesi seine Missa in D. Auch dieses geistliche Werk ist eine Entdeckung und zeigt eine ganz andere Seite des Komponisten.
